The Tube Amp Hall of Fame #45
Watkins Dominator 18 watt guitar amplifier.pre1960
3 x ECC83 (12AX7's) pre-amp tubes,
2 x EL84 power tubes and a EZ81 rectifier tube feed 18 watts of
raw power into 2 original Elac 10 inch speakers.
supposedly,,This is the amp that Jim Marshall copied in 1964 when he built
his famed 18 watt Marshall. grill cloth is the exact same white grill cloth
that Marshall used on his original amps. so they say....
-------
Marshall 1930 Popular 1x12 combo
The 1930 Popular is a 10 watt 1x12 combo
two ECL86 Power tubes
one 12ax7/ ECC83 preamp tube
These amps were only available via catalog
in England for one year 1972-73
--tremolo with speed and intensity knobs
10 watts and they run on British 220 volt
after a conversation with Marshall,,
they said that the cloth on there now was used during
that period and that these amps were generally made
with whatever parts they had available in the shop
They are as close to a Bluesbreaker plexi as you can get
this is new to me.....
